Are we serious about peace?

Peace begins with the company we keep.

Are we truly serious about the peace we say we want? The answer might be simpler than we think. Just look around you — who are the people you choose to surround yourself with?

“Sweet dreams are made of this,” sings Eurythmics.
“Some of them want to use you.
Some of them want to get used by you.
Some of them want to abuse you.
Some of them want to be abused.”

Let’s choose not to use or abuse one another — but to love instead.

Peace begins where self-coaching becomes compassion —
when we learn to live gently with ourselves,
and let that gentleness reach the world around us.
